Yesterday, people from all over the globe descended onto New York City for World Pride. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which sparked the modern Gay Rights Movement and started an annual tradition to march in celebration of and in protest for equality. Tens of thousands of people showed their support along the parade route with rainbow Pride flags, and marchers provided a visual wonderland of drag looks, intricate floats, signs calling for action against repression of queer rights, and even our Barneys x Balenciaga biodegradable deli bags in the wild. Notable attendees included New York Governor Andrew Cuomo; New York Mayor and 2020 presidential candidate Bill de Blasio; the cast of FX’s Pose, who acted as the Grand Marshals of the march; and many more.
