I love that when someone asks me, “What’s your job?” I can say anything I feel like at the moment. I’ve done marketing for Korean entertainment companies, pursued my license as an aesthetician, created YouTube content on how to look like a K-pop star, and styled celebrities. Since moving back to L.A. from Seoul a few years ago, I’ve gotten more into social media because it allows me to explore lots of exciting opportunities and experiment creatively. I’m pretty free-spirited, and being able to try out different things allows me to evolve. My Instagram is a mix of fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and personal life—I want my followers to feel an authentic connection.
There’s no normal day for me. It’s always different depending on the work I’m doing. Sometimes I sleep all day, and other days I’m out the door before 8 a.m. I spend a lot of time trying on clothes and shooting, which is so fun. My personal style is pretty girly. I own very few sneakers, but I have over 100 pairs of shoes, meaning all the rest are heels! I’m always open to trying different styles to see what I can pull off. I definitely don’t like to wear the same thing every day—and if I do repeat something, I’ll change the styling by switching up the accessories.
Even though my style is very feminine, I never used to like to wear pink. Lately, that’s changed! I love that this outfit combines my love for florals and pearls with my newfound love for pink. The top is cropped but loose on the arms, which means it’s flattering and a nice balance of sexy and covered. The heels have platforms, so they’re comfortable even though they’re high. They’re the perfect combination of fun and comfy. I really am all about balance when getting dressed.
Korean style is quite cutesy and feminine, and it’s also more conservative than American style. I’m definitely influenced by both Seoul and L.A., which is more free-spirited and sexy. As K-pop and K-beauty becomes more mainstream in the States, Korean fashion is more embraced over here, which is great for me because it means more work! I love wearing American designers when I’m at Seoul Fashion Week and wearing Seoul designers when I’m in L.A.
This is an outfit I’d wear pretty much any day because it’s so versatile. I love that it can be dressed up or down, and the slit in the dress is subtly sexy. The red moto jacket gives the feminine look a bit of edge, and the color makes the outfit pop. As you can probably tell, sandals are my favorite shoe silhouette because they are so comfortable and perfect for L.A. weather.
I like to dress up and get glam, but more for self-satisfaction than for other people. I styled this with just the slip dress at first, but it was too simple, so I added the Off-White robe to make it more fun. When I’m going out, I like to be a bit extra and really emphasize the glamour. That’s why Gianvito Rossi is one of my favorite shoe designers. I mean, look at the feathers on these sandals! I’m short, and when I wear Gianvito, I always look longer. He just gives me confidence, especially when I’m posing for photos, which is often!
