Fashion month continued with an exciting trip across the globe for Seoul Fashion Week. The runway collections showcased the talents of emerging Korean designers, while outside the shows dressed-up guests offered bold style inspiration. In between the week’s festivities, we explored scenic attractions using the Barneys City Guide, ate traditional cuisine at Jungsik, and took a closer look at the latest K-Beauty innovations. Scroll on for the team’s highlights from Seoul—a city that’s quickly becoming a major player in the fashion industry.

All of the runway shows for Seoul Fashion Week were held at the futuristic D.D.P. The striking venue was also home to a designer trade show, where the team scouted new talent and viewed the latest from J Koo, Blindness, and more.

It’s safe to say that the biggest style stars in Seoul were also the tiniest. Fashionable kids turned out in droves and looked adorable in head-to-toe colorful looks.

Using our very own Seoul City Guide as a travel source, the team did some sightseeing in between appointments. Walking through the 600-year-old Bukchon Hanok Village filled with traditional Korean homes and visiting the Gyeongbokgung Palace was a magnificent contrast to the city’s skyscrapers.

Seoul-based brands are often rooted in streetwear influence, and this season one of our favorites, D-Antidote, presented a Space Jam–themed collection. We loved the upbeat soundtrack and sporty basketball-inspired pieces on the runway.

This season, the British Fashion Council partnered with Seoul Fashion Week for an opportunity for U.K. designers to show in Seoul and vice versa. Thus, a nod to sensible British tailoring was seen throughout the collections, and trench coat iterations were a key trend. We loved Besfxxk’s unique take, blending sharp blazers with artful embellishments.

Atop a hill at Ewha Women’s University are the Vitabrid offices and lab. The team enjoyed touring the facilities and learning more about the revolutionary vitamin C–based product, which many Barneys buyers swear by. Plus, their headquarters boasted an amazing view of Seoul.

#1 SPA
We ended our trip with a facial appointment at the renowned Shangpree Spa, as recommended to us by K-Beauty expert Alicia Yoon. Each Shangpree aesthetician is professionally trained for three years and uses the brands’ own highly developed products. Our signature S-Energy facial finished with a gold “rubber” mask that made for hydrated, glowy skin pre-flight home.
