San Francisco has become home to entrepreneurs, techies, restaurateurs, and fashionable tastemakers alike—with the city’s breathtaking nature, acclaimed food and wine destinations, and growing art scene, it’s easy to see why. After launching our New York City Guide, we were eager to explore the west coast and proudly present to you our San Francisco City Guide. Think of this as your ultimate planning tool, showcasing the best that the city and Bay area have to offer with tips from the insiders who know it best.

Our edited directory now includes an extended section by city, with New York and San Francisco currently available and more cities to follow. With this new roll-out, recommendations are also sortable by each personality included. Perhaps you’ve wondered where the tech influencers of Silicon Valley go for a caffeine pick-me-up? Or where the stars of that other Silicon Valley, the new HBO hit, go for dinner when in town? (That would be Blue Bottle Coffee for Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and Foreign Cinema for actress Amanda Crew.) Now, those inside tips—and much more!—are all accessible for your next trip.

Creating this guide allowed us to both revisit places we already love and discover hidden gems. Some highlights include: Trick Dog, a bar frequented by Laura Cunningham, which serves unique cocktails and has equally as creative menus; the SFMoma, the city’s Museum of Modern Art whose reopening in late May is being anxiously awaited by everyone, including chef Thomas KellerPizzeria Delfina, where Draymond Greene of the Golden State Warriors scores his pizza; and the beautiful church, Saints Peter and Paul, where Christy Turlington was married. There are plenty of scenic hiking trails and tips on the best vistas to hit for views of the city’s infamous Golden Gate Bridge and ample, rolling hills. As legendary entertainer Tony Bennett shares with us, “There is no argument that San Francisco has incredible architecture and as a painter there is always a beautiful vista to inspire me.”

With a Rolodex filled with the gems above, the Barneys City Guide is ready and waiting for you to explore.
