This Milan Fashion Week may have been the most Insta-worthy yet. From ’90s supermodel Shalom Harlow closing the Versace show to logo-mania at Fendi and Missoni’s celebration of their 65th year with café tables positioned along the runway, Milan delivered major moments at every turn.
Show after show, seasonal themes were just as strong as the prints. Lorenzo Serafini brought the party at Philosophy with sensual silhouettes, while Prada delivered the wow factor with an unforgettable performance space filled with inflatable bubble stools as seats. Newcomer Carolina Castiglioni also had a major voice in the historic Italian city with the showing of her new collection, Plan C. This young designer surely inherited a keen fashion sense from her mother (the founder of Marni), and the line is coming soon to Barneys.
Fashion Week in Milan for the Spring/Summer 2019 season was indeed spectacular. Scroll on to discover more must-see moments.

LOGO-MANIA AT FENDI
It’s safe to say the FF logos are not going anywhere any time soon. From puffy coats to vinyl jackets, the signature double F was strategically placed this season in a refreshing way.
SUPERMODEL SHALOM’S VERSACE RUNWAY RETURN
“This has been a true homecoming for me to a house that was with me from the start of my career,” Shalom Harlow said in regards to making her return to the runway at Versace. “Thank you, Gianni, as I feel your presence with me, and thank you, Donatella Versace, for welcoming me back with open arms to your special family in love and kindness.”
A STRONG CASE FOR HEADBANDS AT PRADA
Prada was perfection from head to toe at its SS19 runway show. And while we were in awe of both the performance space reconceived as a runway and the collection’s forward-thinking aesthetic, we predict the house’s puffy headbands will be next season’s must-have accessory.
HAPPY 65th BIRTHDAY, MISSONI!
Light layers and multicolored patterns helped kick off the celebration of the brand’s 65th year. Missoni presented the milestone collection as “an effortless wardrobe of gauzy dresses, long cardigans, and kimono coats mixed and matched in effortless ways, to bridge civilizations with borderless layering.”
BOHEMIAN VIBES AT PHILOSOPHY DI LORENZO SERAFINI
Bella Hadid led the model pack in a black silhouette for the opening of Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. With billowy sleeves and a romantic V-cut, this initial design set the bohemian bar high, and we were pleased with what followed on the runway.
Barneys Ambassador Kahlana Barfield Brown and her daughter Dylan took to the streets of Italy wearing Balenciaga. While there’s no shortage of style when it comes to Milan Fashion Week, this duo has our vote for best-dressed.
FIERCE FOOTWEAR AT FERRAGAMO
We focused from the feet up at the Salvatore Ferragamo SS19 show. We always fancy shoes that Creative Director Paul Andrew designs, including signature heels amplified with bold silhouettes.
OUR BET IS ON PLAN C
Fashion is in Carolina Castiglioni’s blood, and that was made clear during her MFW presentation. The collection proved to be strong individually as well as collectively. Bravo to the young designer on an outstanding first season!
