New York–based independent sunglasses line Smoke x Mirrors collaborated with Kelly Rowland on a 10-piece collection that embodies the singer’s bold style. For Rowland, the collaboration was a dream, as she describes herself as “sunglasses obsessed” and still remembers the first pair of Gucci sunglasses she splurged on in 1998. “I was so happy when this opportunity came about, especially because Smokes x Mirrors is rooted in music. A lot of the main collection that they have are inspired by songs. So, the collaboration just made sense.”
She notes that the Smoke x Mirrors + Kelly Rowland collection is inspired by things she would wear and that go well on a variety of face shapes. “It’s styles that make you feel fly, you know what I mean? Because sunglasses do that. You can have the worst makeup day or face day and as soon as you put on some glasses, you’re like, ‘Oh no, they can’t tell me nothing.’ It’s that moment. And I love that.”
To celebrate, Rowland hosted a breakfast at Freds Downtown with guests including Lindsay Peoples Wagner, Chrissy Rutherford, and Ebonee Davis.
