When it comes to “Cat’s Cradle,” our men’s designer photo series, included as part of the latest edition of our print magazine, it turns out that cats are a man’s best friend. Showcasing some of the most forward-thinking new arrivals from brands like Prada, Calvin Klein, Dries Van Noten, and more, the spread shows that when it comes to dressing, a bit of curiosity means that you can be the one who’s killing it. Check out the video above to see the cats—and the fashion—in action.
Embracing a surrealist sense of whimsy, the shoot tapped two very special guest stars in the form of large Maine Coon cats named Linda and Rossi, placed in an unconventional setting. One of New York’s hidden gems, Washington Heights’ Sylvan Terrace played host to the felines as well as to our dapper models. Built in the 1880s, twenty wooden row houses line the pedestrian-only cobblestone street that once served as the driveway to the Morris-Jumel Mansion, which still stands today and is the oldest house in New York, having been built in 1765. Fun fact: George Washington planned his first successful battle of the Revolutionary War while stationed at the property.
Against this historic backdrop, the season’s most cutting-edge styles stand out all the more for their modernity. Scroll on for a closer look at the shoot and to find the perfect piece that will have you purring.
