Some high school students spend their precious months of summer freedom at the beach. Others spend them working toward a brighter future. On Friday at Freds, an exceptional group of students graduated from the Fred Pressman Summer Youth Program, a program that offers a constructive working environment and professional training experience to teens.
The program, started 37 years ago by Fred Pressman—the son of Barneys New York founder Barney Pressman and the individual credited with developing Barneys New York from a discount men’s store to an internationally known specialty store—invites students to become part of our company for the summer, working in various departments of the Madison Avenue flagship and attending seminars in business etiquette, customer service, resume writing, and interviewing, among others. Over 800 students have come through the program in the last 37 years, going on to college and exciting careers—and we’re sure this year’s class will be no exception.
Barneys New York is so proud of all the students of the Fred Pressman Summer Youth Program. We’re looking forward to seeing big things from these rising stars.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GRADUATES!
