Dearest Shoppers,

With the end of Paris Fashion Week, this season’s fashion activities have come to a close. The positive energy in Paris was palpable, and the Barneys merchant team and I had an invigorating time attending the shows.

Givenchy presented a strong, confidant woman who embraces both her masculine and feminine sides (I know I do) with strong tailoring, romantic dresses and denim to lighten up the brand. I wanted every item, and I can’t wait for it to hit the floor in a few months. Valentino was also remarkable, both for its diverse casting and its ability to consistently present the most elegant clothes on the runway. Pierpaolo even makes a cotton shirt dress look like couture. Sacai is always a fun show, and there was a juxtaposition of outerwear, activewear, and beautiful knits that styled together beautifully. Set to the backdrop of Prince, the show was uplifting.

Seeing the buying team in action these past few weeks — from the shows to the showrooms — reminded me of the fact that we have the best merchant team in the industry. Their discerning eye, passion for quality and style, and motivation to bring Barneys’ shoppers the best edit out there never ceases to impress me. I share an optimistic view of the future.

I wanted to thank our supportive partners again for everything. It was wonderful catching up, talking about the future, and placing our orders for the upcoming spring summer season. This trip has reminded me of the beauty of our business, and the importance of relationships.
