Leaves aren’t the only thing that change color in the fall. Our preferred style palette also transitions from summer brights to more earthy and subdued hues, both in our wardrobes and our beauty routines. This autumn, a sophisticated deep berry lip color—ranging from the full-on strength of a Cabernet to the lesser punch of a Pinot—was a fall runway favorite when balanced with an equally bold brow, and is a fun seasonal addition to your look.

Jason Ascher, resident beauty guru at our Madison Avenue flagship, showed us how to master the application of the pink pout on multiple levels in the above easy-to-follow tutorial. Ascher created a daytime look that pairs perfectly with a plaid coat, leather boots and messy ringlets, and then gets pumped up a notch for a sultry night on the town. So study up, stock up, and pucker up.

Luminous skin and a sheer stain of crushed-berry pink are all you need to keep things fresh.

Amp it up with a bolder hue, matched by a strong brow that holds its own next to the deepest garnet shades.
