We give good karaoke. On Saturday night, we celebrated our Carine’s World collaboration with a karaoke-themed shindig at Westway, a tawdry-but-chic little club in lower Manhattan. Daphne Guinness, Karlie Kloss, Alexander Wang, Courtney Love, Izabel Goulart, Terry Richardson, Hamish Bowles and Doutzen Kroes all vamped their way downtown to pay homage to Carine.
La Roitfeld got things going with her rendition of “You’re So Vain” (apropos for Fashion Week, non?). Among those who took the stage were Roitfeld’s children Julia and Vladimir Restoin-Roitfeld, Anna Della Russo, Giovanna Battaglia, Pierre Casiraghi, Coco Brandolini, Margherita Missoni and the Courtin-Clarins sisters.
I delivered an unforgettably tragic performance of “Nasty Girl” by Vanity 6. Here’s a tip: never attempt to karaoke this wicked ditty. The lyrics come way too fast for an old geezer like me. I felt like I was going to have a stroke.
No karaoke party is complete without someone belting out Frank Sinatra‘s “My Way.” Enter The Last Emperor himself, Valentino! (I’m not kidding!)
