Evening Standard: Introducing the Timeless Designs of Katie Ermilio

Some might say that Katie Ermilio was destined for a life in fashion… Her grandfather has the unique distinction of having designed not one but two American classics: the iconic green jacket awarded in the Masters Tournament and much of Grace Kelly’s personal wardrobe.

Not surprisingly, Katie is now one of those design wunderkinds whose age belies her experience. She’s just 27, but having spent the bulk of her childhood in her father’s Philadelphia tailor shop, she works and converses like someone who’s been in the business for decades.

While working at Teen Vogue after college, Katie was spending most nights designing evening wear for private clients in Philadelphia. It was a natual progression to starting her own line, and as soon as Barneys New York saw her perfectly cut pieces exuding old-world glamour, we asked her to create an exclusive capsule collection just for us.

The result—all bright colors, graphic stripes and couture-like details—feels utterly fresh: a perfect amalgamation of timeless luxury and fashion-forward silhouettes. We invite you to get to know the designer below, then shop her wares for your next night on the town.
