The designer lineup is here, and we’re counting down the days until thedropLA@barneys launches on June 2. The exciting weekend is set to include more than 20 exclusive capsule collections, experiential in-store activations, 90-plus brands, and a debut of 26 web exclusives you can only score on Barneys.com.
Participating designers include Prada, Fear of God, Heron Preston, Versace, Greg Lauren, Rick Owens, Maison Margiela, Fendi, Alberta Ferretti, Ksubi, Moschino, and many, many more. These exclusive designer products will launch at the in-store Beverly Hills event beginning June 2, 2018, and on barneys.com.
Brands were inspired by the spirit of Los Angeles when designing these special products. Our VP/DMM of Women’s Developing Designer Annie Chen says, “I love the influence that the L.A. lifestyle and culture had on both the product and the in-store activations. What could be more California-cool than shopping for a Fila tracksuit while being served pizza from an L.A. food favorite?” This Sliced By Fila pizzeria will be set up for thedropLA@barneys attendees to enjoy. There will also be a Prada Pachinko Parlor, Butterfly Bar, and many more installations. Speaking to the product, Chen continues, “I’m also looking forward to the release of the Adaptation / Born x Raised capsule. It’s great to feature designers that speak to the L.A. scene in a voice that is authentic and homegrown.”
Ksubi also tapped into the City of Angels when creating their denim capsule. The brand’s denim designer, Meg Gallagher, says, “The ‘fake’ print is a reference to the merging cultural connection between streetwear and luxury brands.”
With so many limited-edition styles to look forward to, Chen mentioned additional upcoming favorites. “The Heron Preston capsule has some seriously sexy pieces that are perfect for a summer night out in L.A. Heron’s DJ set was one of the highlights from The Drop in NYC, so I know he will get the crowd going again!”
“I am also excited for the launch of Retrofete, a new exclusive collection featuring great party dresses and statement items for the sequin-inclined. They have designed three amazing looks just for thedropLA@barneys,” Chen says. Certain designers will make this a personal experience, and guests in Beverly Hills can enjoy product customizations from the most coveted brands.
