Our next iteration of The Drop, in partnership with Highsnobiety, is coming to Los Angeles the weekend of June 2–3. If you haven’t yet heard the details, the exciting launch online and in store at our Beverly Hills flagship is set to include 90-plus brands, 26 web exclusives, and many limited-edition capsule collections. To preview some of the amazing products thedropLA@barneys will release, we took to the streets of L.A. and to the rooftop at the Dream Hollywood to style top fashion creatives.
All of the aforementioned pieces and more are exclusives launching at thedropLA@barneys. L.A.-based stylist Aleali May lent her creative eye and natural fashion sense to the shoot. “I wanted to elaborate on each creatives’ personal style,” says May. “Before starting, I asked, ‘What characteristics of the person did I want to play? What colors highlight their skin tone? What hair and makeup will add more life through a picture?’ With so many looks, always starting with an open mind and blank canvas is important.”
As for her favorite look of the day? “It’s hard to choose. For me it varies based on mood. Some of my favorite products would have to be the women’s Versace tunic, Ksubi cropped jacket (I tend to crop everything in my closet), the Area jumpsuit, and the Prada men’s neoprene shoes with blue button-down shirt. Rick Owens is also a designer I love, as he reps Los Angeles.”
