One of the most inspiring aspects of being part of the Barneys community is the exposure to dynamic personalities. After all, it’s the human connections that make fashion so special, evocative, and personal. “Here at Barneys, we are surrounded by and exposed to such an extraordinary amount of talent that it was time we tapped into a new forum to tell stories,” explains Barneys CEO Daniella Vitale. “We are so excited to launch our first podcast as a platform to share these fun and thought-provoking conversations with some of the most interesting people in fashion, design, art, and media.”
The Barneys Podcast season one, “In Conversation,” includes eight episodes that launch every Wednesday. Each one features an in-house host chatting with a relevant and inspiring guest. Over the course of the season, you’ll hear Creative Director Matthew Mazzucca pique Rick Owens’ creative mind, Creative Ambassador-at-Large Simon Doonan interview interior-design guru—and his husband—Jonathan Adler, and Sally Hershberger dish to VP of Creative Services Rena Lazaros about iconic haircuts she did and didn’t intend to do.
In the first episode, Vitale chats with Cleo Wade about female leadership and why it’s so important for women to share their stories. “We need more optimism in leaders today, and it’s becoming very difficult to find,” says Vitale. “After sitting down with Cleo for the podcast to discuss her book and thoughtful perspective, I realized that I want to spend more time listening, learning, and being inspired by people who can help me do my job better. Cleo did that for me, and I hope we do it for others.”
