Phoebe Robinson used to practice her comedy sets at sports bars on Staten Island. Today she’s the host of several hit podcasts including 2 Dope Queens, a comedy variety show on HBO, and is a best-selling author. Her latest book, Everything’s Trash, But It’s Okay, is a candid and hilarious collection of personal essays on everything from personal debt to race.

This week, she brings her refreshingly honest voice The Barneys Podcast in conversation with host Cindi Leive. They discuss everything from body image and fashion—even touching on Robinson’s Glamour shoot from when Leive was editor—to Robinson’s complicated relationship with feminism. She also describes being sexually harassed early on in her comedy career by a male comedian, who she continued to see around for years to come, and the anxiety she felt about standing up for herself. And, of course, the conversation is laced with Robinson’s humble, on point sense of humor.
