SIMON DOONAN and TOMOKO OGURA celebrate RUPERT SANDERSON and his launch at BARNEYS NEW YORK with a breakfast at The Breslin

Barneys New York Finds its Sole Mate in Rupert Sanderson

What better way to start the day than with jelly donuts, shoes, and a charming Englishman? This morning at The Breslin at the Ace Hotel, Barneys’ own Tomoko Ogura and Simon Doonan welcomed London-based shoe designer Rupert Sanderson and a slew of editors and guests to breakfast to celebrate the official launch of Sanderson’s collection at Barneys New York.

The man knows shoes: Sanderson owns his own factory in Italy where his collection is produced, and his commitment and attention to detail comes through in ponyhair loafers, cutout stilettos, and what might just be the perfect ankle boot, among others. He certainly had fans in guests like Marina Larroude, Isabel Dupré, Natalie Joos, and Barneys’ Daniella Vitale, who admired the shoes while noshing on croissants and yogurt.

We caught up with the designer to get even more details on his can’t-miss line. Check out the video and party pics below, and then shop the collection.
