With Rag & Bone’s 15th anniversary coming up this year, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the brand with an Exclusively Ours capsule collection. “We’ve grown up with Barneys, and you guys have been a huge part of our life to date,” the brand’s CEO Marcus Wainwright tells The Window. “There’s a street/urban vibe that has always done well with you, so we used this as an opportunity to focus on that aspect of Rag & Bone and do something special for the Barneys customer.”
The result is a six-piece capsule of heritage Rag & Bone silhouettes, like a bomber jacket and track pants, in technical fabrications and a monochrome color palette. “This [capsule] was a way to bypass seasonal themes and go straight to the core of Rag & Bone—the part that resonates with the Barneys customer.”
Wainwright went on to stress that in a visually driven, cell-phone-obsessed culture that strives for authenticity and individuality, capsule collections are more relevant than ever. “Barneys has a strong point of view, and so do the customers,” he says. “We enjoy creating special pieces that are more limited and can’t be purchased elsewhere.”
