SHHH… We’re Sharing Secrets to the Perfect Summer Party

Nervy hosts and hostesses, take note: The summer party is a tough one to screw up. Sticking with a simple formula of food, friends and appropriately balmy weather usually does the trick. But if you’re motivated by the idea of hosting not just a good party but a great one, then turn to the Barneys New York team for a few pointers.

simonIt’s got to be al fresco and near some water – even if it’s in Coney Island. And informality is key. Avoid fancy stemwear and keep a picnic vibe at all costs.

daniellaThe only pink I allow in the summer is in the form of wine and champagne. Laurent-Perrier Rose Champagne is the absolute best. At my house, we have these unique ice buckets from Paola C. that we put around the pool with cocktail napkins from Kim Seybert.
