When CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund-awarded jewelry designer Monique Péan set off to Iceland to shoot her fall collection with model Liya Kebede, they ended up with much more than the gorgeous campaign images seen below. The two socially-conscious philanthropic women bonded on the trip, and together designed a three-piece capsule collection of fine jewelry inspired by the geometric shape of the African continent—with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Liya Kebede Foundation, which supports maternal, newborn, and child healthcare globally with a focus in Ethiopia.
“It has been an honor to collaborate with Liya Kebede while raising awareness of maternal health issues,” said Péan. “With her focus on philanthropy and global awareness, she is the perfect embodiment of the Monique Péan woman.” The collection, available at Barneys Madison Avenue through the end of October, consists of 18 karat recycled gold, fossilized walrus ivory, conflict and devastation free diamonds, and a one-of-a-kind sustainable blue sapphire. Peek the stunning campaign below, and visit Madison Avenue to truly take in the beauty of the baubles in person.
“The surprise and movement captured as Liya turned her head to avoid an unexpected snowstorm is my favorite moment from our shoot, and I knew that I had to use it for my first campaign in Vogue magazine.” -Monique Péan
“My collections are architecturally driven, and the shots of Liya standing with thegeometric rocks speak to the structure and form of my designs.”
