The annual Met Gala is the party that all other parties strive to be. It’s what we imagine Truman Capote’s Black and White ball might look like today: the apotheosis of glamour.
Hosted by Carey Mulligan, Anna Wintour and Miuccia Prada—along with honorary co-chair Jeff Bezos—this year’s gala kicked off the Costume Institute‘s new exhibition, “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations,” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Our very own Mark Lee and Daniella Vitale were there to help celebrate, along with an unparalleled gathering of supermodels, editors, designers, actors and just about anyone else whose life is chronicled in glossy pages.
Needless to say, there was a strong showing of Barneys New York designers on the red carpet, from Giambattista Valli to L’Wren Scott to Prabal Gurung. Below, we compiled a gallery of our favorite looks from the evening, which we’d like to introduce with the same words shouted from the stage by Bruno Mars last night: “Hello, fashion!”
