If a picture is worth a thousand words, then imagine the volumes it would take to share the story of a single pair of great shoes. As our creative ambassador Simon Doonan learned, these tales can also be brought to life on stage.
Simon recently had the pleasure of joining Megan Mullally on the set of her Broadway smash hit, It’s Only a Play, currently showing at the Schoenfeld Theater. There, she gave him an inside look at the extravagant set, which happens to be her character’s Upper East Side oasis. The clear highlight—sterling silver exercise bike notwithstanding—was surely the immaculate and well-curated (by Barneys, of course) walk-in shoe closet. Check out the video above to see a few old friends—Manolo, Louboutin, and Saint Laurent, to name a few.
Feeling inspired by Megan’s character’s sartorial stylings and looking for an opportunity to sport a pair of your own haute heels? Where better than the play itself? Pick up a pair of tickets (the run was just extended until March) and a pair of pumps—and make a highly fashionable evening of it.
