London may have a reputation for being grey, but the streets and runways continue to prove that they’re anything but drab. With a fleet of rising young designers who embrace print and color, along with edgy locals who think outside the box, it’s always an inspiration to hit the town for LFW. “The city offers a variety of designers who are eclectic yet commercial at the same time, so it’s really fun to see what they dream up each season,” says Marina. Scroll on for her highlights from across the pond.

1. FEMININE FLAIR

“It’s so refreshing to come to London after seeing a week of sportswear in New York,” says Marina, seen here wearing a floral Osman dress along with Assistant Fashion Director Hannah Bibb, also in Osman. “The British designers invest in print and color like in no other city, and I really enjoy the romance and femininity seen on the runways and felt in the streets.”

2. HAND-EMBROIDERED ELEGANCE AT ALICE ARCHER

“Young designer Alice Archer is developing a quiet, ever-evolving collection. Her hand-embroidered robes have been a success at Barneys and her new styles for Fall ‘17 are divine. She also added her hand-embroidered jeans to the mix, and they are as special as her robes.” -Marina Larroudé

3. ANYA HINDMARCH’S BRITISH FASHOIN COUNCIL DINNER

Anya Hindmarch hosted an intimate dinner for buyers at SJ Phillips, family-owned antique jewelry store on Bond Street. “They have the most amazing jewelry, and royals have been shopping there for decades. The dinner was held in this extravagant setting and the surprise of the night was that we each got to borrow a piece of jewelry to wear—unforgettable to say the least.” -Marina Larroudé

4. FIERCE FEATHERS AT J.W. ANDERSON

“Jonathan Anderson is one of the strongest designers at the moment. Whether it’s at Loewe or for J.W.Anderson, he shows consistent and desirable collections season after season,” says Marina, adding that, “the feather dresses were beyond special and will turn heads at parties for sure.”

6. VELVET DREAMS AT ERDEM

“Lace, ruffles, printed velvet with embroidery—the Erdem women wears it all, conveying powerful femininity. This was one of the strongest collections we saw all week. The colorful velvet pieces were a dream.” -Marina Larroudé

7. LONDON CITY GUIDE

“We had heard there was a buzzy new vegan restaurant in Notting Hill called Farmacy, and we had to try it out. It was super cute, and even if you are not up for a clean diet, you will love the veggie burger or the house pizza. Worth the visit,” says Marina. London is the latest city to join our City Guide series.

8. SEE NOW, BUY NOW

Not only did we live stream the entire Burberry show on Instagram, but in the true spirit of Buy Now, Wear Now, select pieces seen on the runway were available to purchase in-store directly after the show. “The finale capes were beyond, but the deconstructed sweatshirt is a must. The best part is, you can buy them now!” Marina Larroudé
