A lot can happen in 20 years. Your job can change, your style can change, your life can change—but if Jason Jones and Mike Feldman have anything to say about it, your bag will still be going strong. The founders of Parabellum, a leather goods collection that uses American bison leather for its rugged yet refined styles, are intent on making something that lasts.
The L.A.-based designers have a sincere reverence for the American West and the bison itself, which neared extinction in the late 1890s before making an impressive comeback this century—and their numbers continue to grow, fueled by businesses like Parabellum.
But as much as it’s about the bison, it’s also about the bags—and let’s just say the richly textured, deeply hued, beautifully crafted clutches and attachés do not disappoint in that department. We’re not the only ones who think so, either—Jones and Feldman are nominees for the highly coveted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize this year.
The Window dropped in on Feldman and Jones (and several of their dogs!) at their LA studio. Check out the video below to hear about their aesthetic, their mission, and more.
