At Barneys, we like to think we know a good thing when we see it. And with Delvaux, the Belgian luxury leather goods house we launched exclusively in the U.S. last fall, we saw a collection of brilliantly crafted, timeless designs that women of every age and style would instantly want. (Who doesn’t crave that one bag that makes you feel polished and a little ladylike, even if you’re in motorcycle boots and jeans?)
Director and videographer Jake Davis has created three videos that marry three very stylish women with three classic Delvaux designs. Socialite, jewelry designer and philanthropist Zani Gugelmann carries the Brillant GM, Delvaux’s most iconic style—designed in 1958 for the Brussels World’s Fair—redeveloped in an oversized, more supple version for Barneys. Francesca Bonato, co-owner of the fashion set’s favorite hideout, Coqui Coqui Spa and Residence Resort in Tulum, Mexico, and founder of Hacienda Montaecristo, a collection of hand-crafted accessories made by Yucatan artisans, carries the Tempête MM bag from 1967. And the ever-elegant model Carmen Dell’Orefice carries the Tempête MM in glazed alligator, as befitting a grande dame. These videos are proof that Delvaux designs will stand the test of time.
