For the latest installment of our expanding City Guides, we’ve asked some of our favorite designers, editors, and influencers to share what they love most about Italy’s fashion hub. As Milan Fashion Week is just about to get started, the guide provides tips on all of the city’s hottest destinations. In need of a great cocktail after the shows? We hear that Bar Basso, loved by food bloggers Riccardo Casiraghi and Stefano Paleari, pours a great apéritif and Bamboo Bar at the Armani hotel hosts the best DJs.

Of course, while exploring Italy, we can’t leave out delicious restaurants for fresh Milanese cuisine and homemade pastas. Palm Angels’ designer Franceso Ragazzi frequents Giacomo Arengario, which also offers stunning views of the Duomo di Milano, and Alberta Ferretti suggests dining at Torre di Pisa for a traditional menu. When on-the-go, Lorenzo Serafini eats at Giacomo Ristorante for a cozy yet quick escape.

Visit Paola Facciolli’s very own Pasticceria Cova for world-famous chocolates and pastries, and settle in for a stay at the Mandarin Oriental, which has a Fornasetti-themed suite. To take in Milan’s history, visit the many cultural exhibits and the Museum of Science and Technology, dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci and loved by Walter de Silva. For contemporary installations, visit Fondazione Prada and the gallery of Gió Marconi, who lends his picks here too. Plus, as always in our City Guides, we’ve included new “What to Wear” selections, so you’ll look extra-stylish while enjoying Milan, a city filled with art and fashion.
