It’s finally here, the day we’ve been anticipating—today is International Day of the Girl! A bit of a primer in case you’ve fallen behind in your reading of The Window: IDG is a United Nations-sponsored initiative dedicated to gender equality and female empowerment around the world. This week, we’ve show you how you can take part in our #GirlPossible campaign, seen the difference education can make in a girl’s life thanks to Camfed, shared with you our nation-wide windows, taken a look at some of the incredibly inspiring women working in fashion today, and told you about the amazing work of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let Girls Learn. All of that was in service of today, and it’s here at last!

As people around the world rally in support of girls everywhere, we turn to the Barneys team and ask them to share their own views on how, by working together, we can make anything #GirlPossible. Want in on the action? Getting involved is as easy as four little steps:

  1. On a piece of paper, write the message, “Anything is possible when ____________.” And fill in the blank with your answer.
  2. Snap a pic holding your message.
  3. Share the photo on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook using the hashtags #GirlPossible and #IDG2015. Also, be sure to tag @BarneysNYOfficial and @TheGirlsLounge.
  4. Tag your heroes—anyone who inspires you—to nominate them to take part as well.

Check out the video above to get our team’s take, then scroll on for a look at how some of our favorites from around the Internet are taking part in today’s festivities as well. Whatever you do, make sure you spread the word about this amazing initiative and treat every day as if it were International Day of the Girl.
