If you haven’t noticed, here at Barneys, we take the phrase “’tis the season” very seriously. From our windows to our wardrobes, investing in holiday cheer is at the top of our December to-dos. This year, we decided to really get into the spirit of the season with a little help from our friends at Blind Barber.
The downtown destination is everything that you would want in a classic barber shop—striped pole, mirrored walls—plus a bit more, which might explain why hearing “take off two inches and pass the gin and tonic” is not only the norm, but encouraged. Yes—this hybrid hideaway specializes in two things: haircuts and novelty cocktails. Since the boys behind the barbershop-bar share our penchant for style and flavor, it was only fitting to collaborate for Freds’ latest libation, I’ll Have Another.
Blind Barber’s resident cocktail expert Matt Pilieci crafted Freds’ festive refreshment, available through the end of the year, with holiday merriment in mind. “I wanted to create a balanced drink with components you wouldn’t think would work together. Plus, any excuse to throw in my favorite tequila—Siete Leguas,” he said.
As for the name, Pilieci is harnessing past luck to carry us to year end. “It’s named after the horse that won the 2012 Preakness. I won good money on that one!”
With only four ingredients, the liquor-forward cocktail is as easy to make as it is to drink.
So, whether you’re heading to Freds to celebrate a successful shopping excursion or holing up at home to escape the winter chill, celebrate this time of year with our buzzworthy beverage.
Cheers to having another!
