Calling all mixologists! Freds is seeking a new seasonal cocktail recipe, and we want you to be part of the party.

If you need some inspiration to get the juices flowing—literally—you’re in luck. We recently ponied up to the bar to watch Hassan Niang, who has been mixing drinks at Freds for eleven—yes, eleven!—years, work his magic. Hassan knows how to assemble one mean cocktail, and he demonstrated by making us a few festive spring refreshers.

1 muddled cucumber slice
1 3/4 oz. Zubrowka Vodka
1/2 oz. St. Germain
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. pineapple juice
1/4 oz. agave
Shake all ingredients together. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a thin cucumber slice.

1 large muddled strawberry
1 oz. Denizen Rum
1/2 oz. Dolin Blanc Vermouth
1/2 oz. lime Juice
1/2 oz. honey
Shake all ingredients except for the Champagne together. Strain twice and pour into a flute glass. Top with the Champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.
“The use of jam and fresh herb in this drink makes it very unique. Be careful not to muddle the rosemary for too long. It is quite strong, and you don’t want to overpower the drink’s more subtle flavors.”
1/2 a sprig of muddled rosemary
2 oz. Tanqueray Malacca
1/4 oz. Creme de Violette
3/4 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
1 tsp. fig jam
Shake all ingredients together. Strain twice and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with sprig of rosemary.
