Mother's Day

Mamma Mia: 4 Cities, 4 Outfits, 4 Ways To Spend Mother’s Day

Not sure how to spend Mother’s Day this year? Not to worry. From an al fresco picnic and mother-daughter manicures to tea for two and a divine breakfast, we’ve rustled up a few to-do’s in four of our favorite cities—plus outfits for each, of course.

Avoid a cramped restaurant and head on over to Central Park for a picturesque picnic instead. Make sure to pack a few delectable nibbles from Freds at Barneys New York—we suggest the apple fruit butter (7) and tin of biscotti (6). Then make your way to MoMA, where you can check out the Cindy Sherman retrospective.

To match this picture-perfect day, we picked two equally picture-perfect outfits. For Mom: a floral skirt (2), sleeveless blouse (1) and wedges (3). For young ladies, an adorable dress (4) and comfy ballet flats (5).

When we think of L.A., we think laid-back, hip, cool. As such, we think there’s no better way to kick off the day than with a relaxing mother-daughter mani/pedi with a few of our snazziest nail polishes. Then top off the afternoon shopping at—where else?—Barneys, of course!

Might we suggest slipping into something comfortable for this day out on the town? Skinnies (2) and a tee (1) for mom, skinnies (4) and a tee (3) for your little one—like mother, like daughter.

Coffee and croissants—can it get much better than that? Skip breakfast in bed and take Mom out for a heavenly Parisian-style petit déjeuner at Claus, a cozy spot tucked in the heart of the 1st. Gourmet goodies and a delicious cafe latte to start off the day? Oui, s’il vows plaît! Added bonus: this little café is located right near the Louvre. (We can guess how you’ll spend the rest of the day…).

Make sure to dress the part in two elegant frocks—one from  Chloé (1), one from Kid by Phillip Lim (2) .

Bright and charming, The Modern Pantry is located on St. John’s Square and is the perfect locale for tea for two. Keep things dainty with these refined styles, courtesy of Balenciaga  (1) and Stella McCartney Kids (2).
