BARNEYS To Donate Percentage of Sales to 9/11 Memorial Fund on Fashion’s Night Out

As in years past, Barneys New York is gearing up for a big Fashion’s Night Out on September 8, when the store will remain open from 10am-10pm. But this year, the impetus is just as much on doing good as it is on having fun.

To mark the upcoming tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Barneys will donate 10% of its Fashion’s Night Out sales at the Barneys Madison Avenue flagship store (and 10% of Barneys.com sales) to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

“Whereas during the last two Fashion’s Night Out events, Barneys New York led with innovative entertainment and designer participation in activities such as karaoke, musical chairs and ping pong, we want this year to refocus all of our efforts on the shopping experience, which was the original impetus for Fashion’s Night Out—and in turn, raise the highest possible donation for this worthy cause on this solemn anniversary. We invite all of our customers, designers, vendors and business partners to participate,” says Barneys CEO Mark Lee.

As a New York-based retailer with strong roots in the city, Barneys feels it is essential to focus our Fashion’s Night Out efforts on this historic anniversary.

“We are very grateful to Barneys New York for its commitment to the 9/11 Memorial,” said Joe Daniels, 9/11 Memorial President. “Their support and the support of so many others around the world gives people everywhere a lasting place for remembrance, reflection and learning for years to come.”
