The George Esquivel recipe for success calls for one part charisma, one part craftsmanship, and one part unimpeachable California cool.
The designer has been hand-making sturdy, European-style shoes with spunky, West Coast personality for both men and women for nearly 20 years now—the most recent 11, headquartered in a breezy Orange County workshop. The family-run factory has doubled in square footage since the team first planted roots, in order to keep up with the demands of a growing business. (When Janelle Monáe and Karlie Kloss are placing custom orders via text, it’s best to have your ducks in a row.)
George was kind enough to let The Window’s cameras inside his HQ for a tour, as well as tell us a little bit more about how the Esquivel universe came to be.
