Most designers do their battling behind the scenes for several years before catching a major break. Rob Garcia is not one of those designers. In just under a year, Garcia has brought his streetwear label En Noir from zero to sixty—sixty of course being its launch here at Barneys New York.
How did the brand manage grow at such a breakneck pace? The ideal ratio of inspiration to perspiration some might say, but endorsements from LeBron James, Kayne West and A$AP Rocky certainly don’t hurt. Each are fans of brand’s luxe, monochromatic aesthetic. Yes, the embossed leather sweats that Kayne hasn’t taken off in months—those would be En Noir’s.
