When it comes to menswear, it’s sometimes easy to feel torn between the clothes you wish you could pull off (leather pants, etc.) and clothes you think you should wear (i.e. practical khakis, etc.). Scott Sternberg’s Band of Outsiders balances these two opposing principles brilliantly; everything in the collection is unquestioningly cool and eminently wearable.
Band of Outsiders has been a part of the Barneys New York family for a while now—have you checked out the line he designs exclusively for us?—so when we found out that he was branching out into haberdashery-like tailored pieces, we were chomping at the bit. (We are particularly excited for his anything-but-stodgy dress shirts.)
These dress shirts, ties, blazers and suiting are designed, as always, with the Band of Outsiders man in mind, but they’re the pieces he’ll turn to for a more formal affair: dinner and dancing rather than clambakes and cookouts.
