Freds at Barneys New York Chicago

“Considering that I love both fashion and food, Fred’s is the ideal place where the two come together. Everything is always fresh and delicious, plus I even got to create my own limited edition menu item last year. I usually switch off between ordering the Chicken Chopped Salad or the Emilia Romagna Pizza—depends on if I’m trying on clothes before or after lunch!” -Jena Gambaccini

Kai Zan

“Unlike pizza and Italian food, fantastic sushi isn’t flooding the streets of Chicago. Thankfully, we have Kai Zan and that’s all that matters. I’ve had almost everything on the menu and nothing is ever sub-par.” -Jena Gambaccini

Public

“Although I haven’t stayed in a room, I’ve spent a lot of time in their restaurant Pump Room (where Frank Sinatra used to dine), their bar called Library, and have been to some stunning events on their rooftop. I’ve always had such great experiences at Public and it’s a go-to when recommending a place for an out-of-towner to stay.” -Jena Gambaccini

“I always order the ‘Dealer’s Choice’ which is where you pick your spirit, flavor profile, and type of glass. Then, the bartender creates something around your selections and every time and I’m always beyond satisfied.” -Jena Gambaccini

La Colombe

“I used to be one of those people who drank Starbucks twice a day, until I tried La Colombe. Now, I can’t even swallow one sip of Starbucks coffee. La Colombe made me appreciate good coffee and they’ll always hold a special place in my heart for that!” -Jena Gambaccini

Cindy's

“Because it’s freezing most of the year here, we go a little crazy when it’s patio/rooftop season. When someone does their outdoor space right, us Chicagoans flock to it. Cindy’s has a unique space that’s part indoor and part outdoor but regardless of their al fresco status, the cocktails are just divine! In fact they don’t even call them cocktails on the menu, they are ‘potions and elixirs.’ If that doesn’t entice you, I don’t know what will.” -Jena Gambaccini

Nando Milano

Photographed by Marcus Mader

“My favorite cuisine has always been Italian food (my last name is Gambaccini after all), and although we have a plethora of amazing Italian restaurants in Chicago, Nando Milano is at the top of my list. They don’t serve oversized portions—meaning I can order more dishes—and everything insanely delicious and made inhouse.” -Jena Gambaccini

Galerie F

Photographed by Jason Kaczorowski

“My favorite kind of art is street art and there’s a ton of it in the Logan Square neighborhood and that’s exactly what Galerie F specializes in. It’s nice to actually be able to purchase pieces from these street artists, as you can’t exactly buy their painted murals on the streets, and it’s even better that many of their artists are local.” -Jena Gambaccini

Bliss Spa

“Whenever I want a few more amenities in my spa experience, I’ll go to Bliss at the W Lakeshore. Their eucalyptus steam showers are my jam and how about those brownies in the waiting room? I always treat myself to a few, okay, a lot, of those.” -Jena Gambaccini
