While the Chicago Cubs were slugging it out against the L.A. Dodgers over in Wrigley Field, we were flinging open the doors of our Chicago store on Oak and Rush to welcome guests to our annual Children’s Research Fund event—our 6th!

Designer Maria Cornejo, fresh from her blockbuster book launch at the Madison Avenue Barneys the night before, king of shoes Nicholas Kirkwood, the jewelry visionaries of Spinelli Kilcollin, and skin-care revolutionary Mila Moursi all sashayed into the Windy City to add fashion flava to our event.

Guests scarfed down mini blinis and mini chocolate soufflés whilst quaffing champagne, mingling, and of course shopping to support the cause. I did my bit: I bought a Thom Browne sweater for my husbear Jonathan Adler and a travel-sized bottle of beard oil… for my beard.

The mind-blowing décor consisted of a truly trippy massive vertical installation of inflatables in glamrock pink, turquoise, and silver, which soared from the ground floor up through the shoe salon.

Huge thanks and shout-outs to our hosts: Karina and Jason Heinrich, Nancy and Phillip Resnick, Amy and Jason William, and CRF Board Chair Donna Drescher. The event raised a ton of dough for a great cause. How did the Cubs do? Don’t ask.

Yours truly, warming up the crowd.

Did I say glamrock décor?

One of our incredible personal shoppers, Chicago’s own Robert Madrigal, strikes a pose with co-hosts Nancy and Phillip Resnick.

Designer Maria Cornejo put her John Hancock on copies of her new book, Maria Cornejo: Zero.

It doesn’t get much better than a personalized Nicholas Kirkwood shoe designer, which the man himself graciously provides for Nicole Rakich and Kaitlyn McMahon.

As if her glowing skin doesn’t speak for itself, Mila Moursi gave demonstrations of her face-saving serums.
