Burberry just debuted it’s first ever straight-to-consumer show at London’s Makers House, and just moments later we’re bringing you Burberry X Barneys: An exclusive capsule collection of runway looks now available for purchase.
“The Burberry looks that we collaborated on are romanticized utilitarian, very feminine, and truly seasonless in our eyes. All of the items are must-haves!” says Barneys COO Daniella Vitale. She went on to stress the importance of one-off collaborations such as this. “We love the idea of doing special projects and partnerships, like this exclusive capsule collection. Our customer craves these unique opportunities, and so do we.”
Virginia Wolfe’s novel Orlando is the central theme of the collection and plays out through the contrast between masculine and feminine styles across different periods in history. The sumptuous collection of heavily detailed velvets and silks contrast rich jewel tones like emerald green and amethyst with softer shades of pale pink and blue. The heavily detailed pieces combine artisanal nobility with modern informality, gracefully linking past to present.
The runway show and this exclusive collection are groundbreaking for the consumer, who no longer has to wait to buy and wear a look they love.
Burberry X Barneys New York will be sold exclusively on Barneys.com and at Barneys New York flagships at 660 Madison Avenue and 101 7th Avenue in New York, as well as 9570 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
