The call it ‘The Giving Season’ for a reason. This is the time of year when Barneys is especially proud to give back through partnerships with outstanding non-profit organizations like The Boys’ Club of New York. Like Barneys, the Boys’ Club is somewhat of a New York institution, with roots that go back to 1876 and a small ‘clubhouse’ of just three boys. Today, the Club serves more than 4,000 children in three different locations across the city, offering a host of programs that are meant to help these young New Yorkers build character and develop skills that will serve them over a lifetime.
Our very own Creative Ambassador-at-Large, Simon Doonan, dropped by to pay the Boys’ Club a visit and lean on the artistic talents of the group. In the video above, you’ll see the students painting their own versions of the BAZ DAZZLED woodland creatures. Their original artwork will be sold in our Madison Avenue flagship throughout the month, with all proceeds benefiting The Boys’ Club of New York. Stop by the ninth floor to see these mini Matisses and petite Picassos while you still can. And while you’re at it, be sure to pick up some goodies from the BAZ DAZZLED collection, which gives 25% of proceeds to Room to Read, an organization dedicated to improving literacy and gender equality in education in the developing world.
