Ranch Dressing: Get to Know Shea Marie of Cheyenne Meets Chanel

She’s a California girl these days—see those perfectly beachy blonde locks for proof—but Shea Marie of the blog Cheyenne Meets Chanel has serious style that knows no boundaries. The 25-year-old blogger has been jet-setting through the global fashion weeks while still finding time to post peeks at her enviable ensembles…and anyone who can look this good while living out of a suitcase deserves major high marks!

We caught up with Shea Marie to get her take on all things fashion.

How would you define your personal style?
It’s ever-changing. That is the most wonderful thing about fashion—you can change who you are and how you feel by what you wear. It truly is an art and it’s constantly evolving.

Who are your style muses?
Kate Moss, Carine Roitfeld, Miroslava Duma and of course Diana Vreeland.

What distinguishes West Coast and East Coast style?
As a whole, West Coast style is more relaxed. You don’t see the European influence as much on the West Coast as you do on the East Coast—especially in beach cities, where flip flops tend to be quite acceptable footwear.

What is the best fashion advice you have ever received?
From a very young age I was interested in fashion, and my mom always told me to wear what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable, above what is “in style.”

What is the fashion technology or innovation you just cannot live without?
Instagram. I know it’s not just for fashion, but fashion bloggers have become a tremendous influence on Instagram. The fact that it’s an instant, intimate peek inside someone’s personal life draws you in. It’s addictive!

If we ran into you at the airport flying back-and-forth for fashion week, what would you be wearing?
Well, that depends… On the flight to Fashion Week I’m always excited and it’s reflected in my style. This season, I was wearing red and black Helmut Lang leggings, black ankle boots and a white blazer. Returning home is different story. I’m usually exhausted, with a suitcase jammed with wrinkled clothes. I look for the most comfortable option.

If you were accidentally locked in Barneys New York overnight, what would we find you wearing in the morning?
First and foremost, I’d be wearing the biggest smile. You would definitely find me in a Helmut Lang blazer or coat. Their jackets fit perfectly! Chances are I’d be laying on a pile of anything and everything Givenchy I could find in-store. I would have a Fendi 2jours personalized tote on my arm, Céline sunglasses, a Lanvin leather mini skirt, an Isabel Marant sweater and a Givenchy cuff. And honestly, I’d probably layer as many pieces as humanly possible!
