Beltology is an innovative brand that manages to take the belt—a timeless yet often tired wardrobe staple—and make it both buzzy and irreverent. Co-founders Andrew Heffernan and Anna Lundberg decided to launch the line after realizing that the belt was an overlooked accessory. The European-based couple did obsessive research before landing on a stretch woven design that seamlessly blends form and function. And with that formula down, they made freedom of expression a core value, leading them to exciting and exclusive collaborations, including their latest with artist André Saraiva.
“All of our collaborations to date have been very intuitive and natural,” explains Lundberg. “We look for people who are authentic, creative, and vibrant.” The duo are longtime fans of Saraiva’s humorous, graffiti-inspired work. When they met him for chicken coconut bowls at Café Henrie in the Lower East Side, things instantly fell into place. “We got to talking about how many years André had been wearing a single belt he found in Paris. He has been looking to get a new version, and together we decided to make a collection inspired by his beloved belt.”
The resulting capsule melds Saraiva’s artsy, Parisian style with Beltology’s signature design. Each belt features a leather-wrapped buckle and foil stamp of André’s mischievous and lovable character, Mr. A, and comes with removable multicolored enamel and metal pins for a customizable look. Both timeless and fresh, any one of the unisex belts is the perfect addition to a wardrobe.
