Why stop at one new beauty floor when you can have two?
Over the past several months, we have been renovating our New York and Beverly Hills beauty floors in tandem, and today we’re proud to unveil them both!
Working with Steven Harris Architects, Barneys has really set the stage for the best retail beauty experience. Each space is gleaming thanks to white French plaster walls, terrazzo tile, clean lines and soft lighting (this is a beauty floor, after all).
In addition, each floor has gained significant square footage (a whopping 8,000 in LA and 1,000 here in New York), which means more room for the collections you love, plus a few new ones. Keep an eye out for MAKE, a socially conscious line that debuted just this year, and Troy Suratt, the namesake collection from the popular Hollywood makeup artist (coming to Barneys.com soon!). We’ve also carved out more space for fragrance favorites like Frédéric Malle, Serge Lutens and Byredo, added a Mila Moursi Skincare Institute for facials, massages and all that good stuff, and created new private studios for in-house beauty gurus Jason Ascher (New York) and Patrick Foley (Los Angeles).
The Madison Avenue flagship will be graced by the presence of a Valery Joseph-helmed blow dry bar (Barneys Blow Bar by Valery Joseph, or B3 for short) and the Beverly Hills store will get its own La Mer treatment room, dedicated to all things Creme de la Mer.
As you can tell, there’s a lot going on, so it’s worth a trip to the store just to take it all in.
We couldn’t help but sneak in a little early with our friend Aimee Blaut from cult-favorite blog, The Formula. We set her loose on the new floor, which she described as a “Barneys beauty playground,” and managed to capture all the fun in GIF form. Check it out, be sure to share with your friends using the hashtag #BNYBeauty.
