The Barneys New York CO-OP—it’s been around for over a quarter of a century!—has always been an evolving, moving, grooving thing. It’s been punk, it’s been pretty, it’s even been preppy! Now, in its newest and most magnificent incarnation, it is both tech-fabulous and graphically luxurious.
Last night, we (Amanda Brooks, Tomoko Ogura, and yours truly) invited a bunch of CO-OP loyalists to investigate the new ‘Boy Meets Girl @ CO-OP’ 8th floor concept at our Madison Avenue store. Richard Chai, Jennifer Fisher, John Patrick, Max Osterweis, Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos, Timo Weiland, Alan Eckstein, Gaby Basora, Robert Geller and Wayne Lee all vied to have their tarot cards read, their fortunes told, and their personal style assessed by the legendary Bumbys.
My personal highlights of the evening: the glamorous touchscreen banquet table at the new genes@co-op café, and, last but not least, that gorgeous rough slate floor. Check it out!
