Barneys About Town: Richard Chai, ATM and 3.1 Phillip Lim In The News

Extra, extra—read all about it. From new collections to designer spotlights, Barneys is making its mark in the news this month. Take a look at the highlights…

1. Barneys has mastered the art of Facebook, according to FreshNetworks, which compares Barneys’ content and “impressive” engagement rate to Saks Fifth Avenue’s.

2. New York-based designer Michael Bastian is expanding his ever-popular collection with an office-ready line of suits, blazers, dress shirts and neckwear available exclusively at Barneys. Read all about it in WWD and GQ.

3. The sleek and sporty 3.1 Phillip Lim “31 Hour” Bag is getting its (much deserved) moment in the sun. The versatile cowhide satchel, designed to be worn under the arm as a clutch or hung over the shoulder as a roomier carryall, made the most recent installment of T Magazine’s “The Get.”

4. According to Elle, Barneys has set the trend for blurring the line between mens- and womenswear, referring to our new eighth-floor CO-OP space at the Madison Avenue flagship. Richard Chai’s new role as creative director of Filson plays right into this boy-meets-girl mentality.

5. W Magazine takes a moment to spotlight Tony Melillo’s new luxury T-shirt line, ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo, which just made its debut at Barneys this month.
