Clare Waight Keller is only four seasons into Chloé tenure, but we hope she’s here to stay.

“Honestly, I think this past show was the most spot-on I have seen in terms of capturing the spirit of the Chloé girl, which had waned in the years before Clare took over,” Barneys COO Daniella Vitale commented to the New York Times of Waight Keller’s Spring 2013 collection.

After graduating from London’s Royal College of Art, Waight Keller trained at Calvin Klein, Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Pringle of Scotland before stepping in as creative director at Chloé in late 2011. But she’s a natural fit at the French fashion house: Her lines are soft but sturdy, structured but always with plenty of room to breathe. We love that she brings the focus back to the “real woman” that Gaby Aghion had in mind when she created the brand 60 years ago. Now, the operative word here is brings. Waight Keller’s pieces aren’t part of the Chloé Heritage Collection because you can shop any day at Barneys New York. It’s a good day to be a Chloé girl, no?
